Horrible Bosses (2011)

Disgruntled buddies Nick (Jason Bateman), Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) and Dale (Charlie Day) can't leave their miserable jobs, so they cook up a creative strategy for eliminating each other's micromanaging and maniacal employers (Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell, Kevin Spacey) instead in this crackpot comedy. Peculiar advice from con artist Motherf**ker Jones (Jamie Foxx) gets the scheme in motion, but the pals can't keep the wheels from flying off.

Jennifer Aniston has finally gone through a sexual awakening that literally no one has asked for since 1998. I absolutely love that she waited until she had fish lips to be provocative. Army of Darkness said it best: "You found me beautiful once." "Honey, you got real ugly."

OK comedy that passes the time without taking any real chances. There was only two, maybe three real laugh out loud moments and the plot climaxed to a point where everything was so obviously complicated that I couldn't help but become annoyed. Outside of that I loved the performances from the bosses, and from now on I'm nominating that Colin Farrell can ONLY play middle-aged, fat, balding, cocaine addled characters. Really this is just a movie you enjoy watching, but won't remember a week later.

A few laughs, but other than that it's just stupid and not funny... Kind of the theme for most american comedies these resent years...

Good summer comedy fun. Much, much better than The Hangover Part II, anyway. Not as dark as you might hope from the premise, but it has a certain filthy-minded verve to it. The entire cast is solid (gotta love Bateman's deadpan vibe), but Aniston may be the unexpected scenestealer, if only because it's nice to see her step away from her toothless, generic romcom safe zone for a moment.

Stumbles from time to time, yet it remains rather funny throughout. The leads have good chemistry and the bosses are over the top but not ridiculous. I do wish it actually had the balls to be more subversive but clearly that wasn't what it was going for and that's ok.

Could've easily been worse, considering how everything falls into place a bit too incoherently, but it features a fair share of well timed comedic situations and the 3 leads are fun to watch.

Jennifer Aniston is the best boss you IDIOTS. GAWD. I'm just saying, if Jennifer Aniston were to do that to me, I'd be alright with it. No sad call to the hotline for me after

Rather kill me now than make me watch Charlie Day and listen to his nails-on-chalkboard voice again. This movie had a few outstandingly funny scenes, but the vast majority was cringe-worthy, over the top, trying too hard rubbish.

A very quality summer comedy where everybody shines no matter how big their part. It's consistently funny with a nice amount of hearty laughs thrown in as well. The ending felt thrown together with one of the "solutions" to the boss problem being very underwhelming, but it wasn't enough to make me dislike the film. I imagine anyone with any interest in seeing it will probably enjoy themselves at least a little bit.

Quite funny. But considering the cast, I expected a lot more. I'm completely astonished by J. Aniston not sucking.

Only in Hollywood would you have a superficial script, as if written by a 15 year old pubescent guy, who managed to stop furiously masturbating long enough to allow himself to scrawl down some cheap one dimensional gags. And only in Hollywood would that flimsy piece of paper be given the light of day. So, despite an early chuckle, the characters are paper thin and watching their asinine adventures unfold from the sticky, spindly and superficially scribbly wrist of adolescent humour is numbing.

A handful of really decent comedic scenes and a bunch of drivel to fill in the gaps. Movie wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. Thought the cast was pretty solid.

Always feels like its just teetering on the edge of its white-male emasculation revenge fantasy into something truly subversive and terrifying, but it just never QUITE gets there. Colin Farrell is just marvelous, though. That fucking stripper scene had me screaming in the theatre.

It's a pretty decent comedy, loved to see Day outside of "it's always sunny...", and Farrell, Spacey, and Aniston do most of the comedic heavy lifting. The real winner here is Foxx, his character was gut-wrenchingly funny.

The writing is maddeningly uneven, but there are some very funny jokes distributed throughout to keep you from turning it off. Mostly very appealing cast that makes up in likability for what the writing lacks. It's nice to see Jennifer Aniston do something besides "wronged-but-likable"--and she's actually good, for a change. Kevin Spacey is great.

I gotta rank it higher than Hangover II for sure, and it stands as my best mainstream comedy of the year thusfar (into July). Honestly, everyone shines. Bateman is awesome, Sudeikis is awesome, Day might be the flick's MVP which is saying a lot. Always gotta love Kevin Spacey in basically anything, and y'know, this is possibly the first thing post-F.R.I.E.N.D.S that I've been able to tolerate Aniston in. The Spacey-Farrell incident is worth the price of admission. And the movie's ending is EPIC!

Having seen the sequel first, I can say that I thought this wasn't as good, but still find the absudist riffing between the 3 leads very funny. Spacey's great as a psycho w/ only Aniston's storyline being the main weak link as it crosses over from enjoyably absurd to just trying-to-hard implausible. She seems particularly miscast here as you can't help but watch her and think she's doing this to change her image (ditto for Farrel), but none of that matters if you're laughing.

It Couldn't have been much better in all Honesty! They could have gotten Jenifer Aniston to take more off, but beyond that it was just about as good as it gets. Oh and for the first time ever (and probably only time) Jamie Foxx was good!

"Horrible Bosses" is the kind of comedy I expect to see every summer. One I really enjoy when I watch it, but can't recall too much of a week later. What works in this movie is the fish-out-of-water complex Dale, Kurt and Nick have when it comes to the criminal underbelly of society. Most of their knowledge comes from pop culture, so when they're actually faced with what they thought they wanted, the movie gets a lot funnier. It does take a while to get there, but it's worth it. At least once.

It's simply not a funny film, even though all the actors seem to think they are hilarious. Aniston is not believable at all as a sex maniac, Spacey plays the same character as in Casino Jack, and the three lead actors are just a bore. Foxx has perhaps one chuckle-worthy moment. They are not helped by the poorly written plot and dialog from start to finish. Go watch Office Space instead for a film about bosses. Or Bridesmaids if you want something from summer 2011 that's actually good.

Horrible Movie more like. I hate comedies that strain your suspension of disbelief when it comes to human behavior. Nobody in the whole film acts (or thinks) even remotely realistic, and as such I find it veeeery hard to derive any comedic value out of this bizarro-world stage and its weird inhabitants.

A few mild yuks, but except for two great supporting performances by Kevin Spacey and Colin Farrell (who looks like something out of a Cohen Brothers movie), there's not much to this.

Everyone in this movie is stupid and a scumbag, but that's not what makes it bad. Maybe I'm overly sensitive but constant references to man and prison rape don't make me laugh. Some of the slapstick was funny though.

I didn't really laugh out loud much but it was fun. I'd say I enjoyed it. The bosses actually didn't feature that much, but Kevin Spacey & Jennifer Aniston were awesome. Colin Farrell didn't impress me, however. The standout was definitely Charlie Day though. He was pretty damn funny. I thought Jamie Foxx was good also as "Motherfucker Jones". So, yeah, I wouldn't call it a good film exactly, but it was entertaining and fun throughout.

Kevin Spacey reprises his role from Swimming with Sharks. Jamie Foxx plays a character named Motherfucker Jones. Jennifer Aniston jumps directly from my dreams onto film. Plus there are plenty of laughs to be had.

I really enjoy these kind of movies. I found a lot of the jokes to be so raunchy, but it actually worked. The best part of this film though, is the chemistry between Day, Bateman, and Sudeikis. They do come off as very natural trio of friends and the movies flows so well because of it. Spacey, Farrell, and Aniston also are solid in there respective roles, and the film does a interesting conclusion. Overall, its pretty damn good.

Seven great characters deliver brashly hilarious material following from an outrageous premise to create an overall solid comedy: Bateman, Sudekis (the straight guys), and Day (the maniacal third wheel) share great chemistry (their frantic dialogue is gold) that only gets better as the plot gets crazier; the three antagonists are each wildly funny and terrible in their own right; and Foxx' underwhelming bad-ass is a total riot ("I need $5000." "No." "Alright, look, just pay for my drinks.")
