Where to start? The 'backing choir' sang either "he sees her" or "It's Caesar". Nevertheless, plenty of flaws that add to an atmospheric and tense slasher where the twist is predictable and the final scene is over the top. Exactly what one would expect from a film such as this. The down side is that the title doesn't have a catchy yet pathetic play on words related to the main theme.

So the setting is eerie but in that stupid kind of way where nothing rational ever takes place on screen, but to be honest, eventually it becomes the reality of the film and legitimately just becomes eerie. Barbi "I was with Hugh Hefner" Benton goes topless and it is the scariest thing on film. Fake boobs have advanced as much as the whole smoking in a hospital stigma has.

No I’m telling you just have Barbi Benton’s ridiculous hooters and then I got this weird choir music track we will figure out the rest . Hey you think a kid can kill another kid with a hat rack.

In a dank and creepy old hospital, a psychotic doctor terrorizes one female patient by slowly murdering all the staff around her, all to get revenge for a perceived slight from when they were children. Besides the ludicrous premise, this cliched slasher flick never really impresses, offering up simple jump scares, obvious bait and switches, and a killer whose identity is never really in question. It's got a few novel kills, though...and Barbi Benton gets her boobs out and screams a lot.

This generic slasher manged to produce flashes of a surprisingly creepy thriller, despite its litany of bad-movie symptoms. The killer's identity is spelled out, but once in the hospital the movie creeps along for so long while throwing so many creepy staring red herrings at the audience that you forget anything about what movie you started watching. Instead you just feel trapped in an insanely incompetently ran hospital for forever with a terrified Barbi Benton and three mysterious witches.

It's very difficult to make a successful horror-comedy (or tongue-in-cheek-horror) and this one fails miserably. There's hardly any plot and the humor doesn't work at all. It truly feels like the film wanders around the hospital floors much longer than it's actual duration of 90mins. That's quite an achievement from a film with this much nudity and gore.

This mediocre (technically) holiday slasher has just enough low-budget charm to be watchable, but it's far from a classic. Barbi Benton delivers a decent performance in the lead & the atmosphere is pretty nice, but there are too many obvious red herrings & the script clearly thinks it's being a lot more clever than it ever is. Seeing the Bloody Birthday kids (two of them at least) was fun. The kills are alright. The ending, as ridiculous as it is, is entertaining. It's meh, but there's worse.

Definitely a highlight of my recent 80s slasher marathon. The chanting operatic choir every time the killer went nuts on people had me in stitches. I guess Barbi Benton was just a Playboy chick or whatever but she makes for a pretty good scream queen / final girl.
