Hot Dog... The Movie

While certainly heavy on the T&A, this mediocre 80's teen sex-comedy is a tad light on the comedy to say the least. Despite that, the relatively unique ski gimmick and setting is probably the only reason the movie stands out from the glut of similar teen sex-comedies of the era. However unfortunately, beyond some half decent ski scenes, the movie is still nothing more than your poorly aged, typical low-rent 80's sports/comedy/quasi-softcore porn. Really only for hardcore fans of the genre.

Mediocre T+A film is distinguished solely by its ski setting. It has plenty of nudity, but it never feels subversive. Watch Porky's or Screwballs instead.

First off, I don't who wrote this nonsensical movie description, trying to be funny?? Anyway, I actually mostly enjoyed this rather silly slice of 80s life. Hot chicks, fitting music, decent cinematography and simple story.

Even if judged purely as a product of its time, which it absolutely is, this is still pretty bad. Most of the comedy isn't funny, entire chunks of plot are just missing, both female leads are there to take their clothes off & do nothing else, & the story- which is basically just dumb 80's Murica propaganda- falls apart within 20 minutes. It's slow, it's tasteless, it's shallow, & it lacks a single likeable character. The few decent jokes it offers don't make it worth watching. Skippable.

It's not high art by any means, but also not as bad as the current ratings imply. Hot Dog.. The Movie takes the typical 80's teen comedy formula and changes the setting from beach to snowy slopes, and that's enough to make it stand out. You get beautiful scenery in multiple meanings, gratuitous nudity and some very un-PC dialogue/situations. Oh, and there's a hilariously stereotypical German/Austrian baddie as well.
