Highly memorable, but some of the jokes don’t land quite as well as the first outing. Nevertheless, it’s frankly brilliant to me that Iraq totally doesn’t look like my friend’s back yard in Rachos Palos Verdes. And we lost Lloyd Bridges too soon. He’s doing the absolute best Joe Biden impression I’ve ever seen.

There's a scene where Charlie Sheen decides to leave Valeria Golino behind so he moves away from her to his right. As the screen pans along with him he impossibly runs into her from his right. If this sort of absolute ridiculousness doesn't appeal to you, you should not be watching this...or reading my reviews for that matter. Lloyd Bridges' scuba tank is full of helium. Your argument is invalid.

Part Deux is probably the last of the Zucker/Abrams parody movies to regularly hit the mark, and for me it still holds up today. On a recent rewatch I found myself quoting my favourite lines along with the dialogue and had a great time doing so. When I learned of Miguel Ferrer's passing in 2017, the first thing I thought of was his awesome line delivery in this movie, "War. It's fantastic!", which cracks me up every time I hear it. While not for everyone, Hot Shots Deux remains one of my faves

One of the films that started the whole comedy-spoof sequel genre - you know, once you spoof a movie and get a couple of laughs, you try to get a couple more by making a sequel. Of course, who couldn't laugh at that?

I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't score this so highly. Oh lawdies, what have I scored it above? What great films are sitting on equal rank and tier? Ah, whatever, I had fun with it. It's a laugh. And Sheen is totally winning.

Has not, I'm sad to report, held up well at all. There's still some fun to be had, though. Hell, I'll give it a thumbs up for nostalgic reasons - and for the gummy bears scene.

Solid parody and a lot of hilarious lines and moments. The huge shootouts were great and I love the body count meter. Also, the Martin Sheen cameo was hilarious. Of all the missions in all the jungles you had to walk into this one.

This movie cracked my shit up when I was a kid. I should watch it again to see if it's still watchable. I'll never forget the line, "I will kill you until you die from it!"

They took everything that worked in the original, improved on it and parodied a different movie to keep the series fresh. Any movie with an actual bodycount counter is a-ok in my book.

I think I liked this movie so much because I was a kid the first time I saw it. Given that this has been the only time, it probably tells me that I wouldn't laugh as much if I saw it again, but I am keen on staying positive, so I will rate it based upon the first impression =)

Hot Shots! Part Deux isn't quite the film that its predecessor was -- which itself is not among the top tier of spoof movies by the Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker trio -- but it's still a fun watch and if you needed to see a Rambo III spoof, one which actually winds up being more enjoyable than the film it's spoofing, then here is your movie. The creativity and spark isn't quite there, but it's still a funny movie that is well worth seeing. The actors, in particular Lloyd Bridges, make it enjoyable.

The second "Hot Shots!" might not be as inspired or as side-splitting as the first one but still is a fine parody of war movies and their clichés, permeated with the trademark absurdist humour of Jim Abrahams and Pat Proft. The chicken sequence is iconic.

Roughly on par with the original, Hot Shots 2 is a respectable sequel that delivers, but it suffers slightly from the obviousness of its central target. Rambo and Stallone parodies were firmly entrenched by 1993, so it was hardly fresh material, but their spoof of mindless action films was easily the funniest, creating many outrageous gags, including one involving chicken ammunition. The visual puns are more confidently executed, and the caricature of Saddam Hussein was genuinely ballsy.

Has a lot of great gags and is a fantastic parody of military based action movies. The skits parodying romance were often weak and the sappy love triangle didn't get even a smile out of me, but it otherwise has a lot of good slapstick humor and some hilarious dialog. The president being a key highlight of the whole film.

Sheen ain't no Nielsen, but the gags here are faster, better-staged, and more laugh-out-loud funny than anything the NAKED GUN pictures ever drummed up. It aims for the rafters, sure, and doesn't carry the simple good-naturedness of the GUN pictures, but it also has a scene in which Lloyd Bridges and a swishy Saddam Hussein have a lightsaber battle.

I like this one more than the first. While it does parodies a couple of then popular movies compared to the first, which was really for most part a parody of one particular movie (Top Gun), this works better also as a parody on action movies in general. Also it’s just damn funny. Plus it has great pace, it’s over before you know it. And yeah nostalgia did influence my rating, can’t help that.

It runs at a breakneck pace of approximately one gag per second, but doesn't quite hit the heights of Abrahams' work with the Zuckers. Still, the gags are so constant, even if some of them fall flat, they're immediately upstaged by something else to make you forget.

So, so much better than the first. It seems like the Hot Shots concept came to fruition much more with Rambo as it's source rather than Top Gun. The jokes feel far fresher (some of the puns are actually really, really funny), are far funnier and it paces itself much better. Production values and acting don't go too far though. Pretty good, recommended for a laugh.
