Lightweight espionage thriller. Worth watching for the exciting chase sequence towards the end, but it's let down a fairly flimsy plot and a complete lack of suspense. There are a few moments where it aims for laughs and misses badly, and most of the supporting characters (Herbert Lom excepted) are really hammy. Finally, a small issue, but all those Europeans speaking with cut-glass English accents did distract me a little.

The beginning is really cartoony but it settles into a fun enough thriller. Lom does his thing.

James Mason was versatile in Hotel Reserve (1944). A very vibrant character, giving energy to a otherwise routine espionage thriller. Lacked a little screen magic, but in most ways this was solid.
