Perfect representation of a slowly crumbling romance due to lack of communication. Relatability within the audience is achieved through the portrayal of realistic societal pressures in a competetive working class & heartfelt performances from both leads that convey complex emotions. Subtle story beats are achieved through great dialogue & acting. Dramatic irony makes the audience's experience more meaningful & bittersweet. Cinematography felt very intimate &personal, score was used tastefully.

A history of a relationship, showing its evolution over various Chinese New Year's holidays, this beautifully shot drama manages to create two convincingly real people and show them growing and changing together and ultimately apart over years.

Beautiful portrayal of lost loves and broken hearts. A transcendence of love from youthful enthusiasm to selfless devotion. Gently delineates the idea that true love, though hurtful, will always feel like home in our thoughts and we'll all be fine in the end. I firmly believe a tighter edit would have been more impactful. Nonetheless, Us and Them is very good at permeating its themes.
