Total amateur hour. The script that reads like it was banged out in an hour. The second act shifts tone and dives head first into a 1990's Comedy/Horror that's so painful, even Charles Band couldn't replicate it's sheer corniness (at least his is fun watch). Producer Sean S. Cunningham (Friday the 13th) must of been forced into financing this garbage after hitting someones kid with his car. Because surely there are better schemes for tax write-offs out there?

"House IV" is actually the 3rd movie in the loosely connected "House" series because the people making them don't put a lot of thought into them beforehand. Example being the decision to bring back the character "Roger Cobb" from the original "House"(1986), but in name/body only. The movie is mostly a tired slog, but there are a few tremendous moments of hilariously ridiculous attempts at "horror". Like its cousin film "Horror Show"(1989), they accidentally made a funny-bad dark comedy, but bad.

Slow, overlong, thrill-less, this lurches from comedy to horror, and can't even match the shoddy effects of the first two. Although Katt has the same character name as in _House_, he doesn't seem to be playing the same person.
