The second worst movie I have ever seen in my entire life, Manos claims the title of the worst. Nothing is entertaining about this film. It's not "so bad it's good" it's "so bad it's terrible." Never see this film on purpose.

Bad director + stupid source material = House of the Dead. How does Uwe Boll make such terrible films? Well, for one, he does it out of the country where it's cheap, and that helps him have a relatively little loss. This film in particular is extra bad. Based on a video game in which all you do is shoot zombies, there wasn't much to work with. Utter crapulence!

Most movies don't conclusively answer centuries worth of debate, but here it sits, definitive proof that art is not subjective. But honestly, you wanted to watch it as much as I did. I'm just more willing to wallow in it.

A big fat goose egg for this unwatchable turd. Uwe Boll should be arrested and tried in front of an international court for his crimes against humanity.

It is hard to truly despise this as, much like Ed Wood before him, Boll does seem committed to putting on a good show, having dutifully taken notes from TEXAS CHAINSAW and JAWS amongst others, and presenting a reasonably likable cast/characters. Technical deficiencies here are pretty glaring and obvious, but not any better or worse than a Michael Madsen/Eric Roberts vehicle from recent years. To damn with faint praise, not as bad as its reputation and salvaged somewhat by good spirits.

Not scary, not exciting, not funny. The zombies all have the ability to sneak around like thieves in the night, move at a pace that puts the marathon deadmen of 28 Days Later to shame, and glide through the air as though they had wings. Except when they're faced with the survivors. For whatever reason--performance anxiety, perhaps--the best they can do in battle is eat punches and bullets while hoping to bite a leg. The Matrix-lite-like action sequences make no sense & look awful. Nicht so gut.

If I had been expecting something passable I'd have plenty to complain about, from the terrible soundtrack to the video game flashes. From the nonsensical plot to the mediocre acting. But with the expectation of the worst movie ever, it's just not bad enough. I've seen worse acting, more incomprehensible plots and worse direction, even all three together. Most individual scenes wouldn't be out of place in mediocre movies, it's just that here there's no reason to give a damn about any of it.

Craptastic in every sense. Probably one of the - if not THE - worst mainstream movie of the last 10 years. Shoddy production, horrible acting ("what do you think I'm trying to do, you FUCKING moron?!"), horrendous editing (what the hell happened in the big shoot-out at the cemetery?!) and so on, and so on... ... and I absolutely loved it. Perhaps the ultimate "so bad, it's good"-movie. I laughed so hard i cried.

Uwe Boll is a moron. This is such a low-grade zombie movie. There are some unintentionally funny lines here and there. Other than that, look for multiple shots from the House of Dead videogame that are inexplicably inserted into the film, also watch for the 10-minute long gun battle with the worst continuity I've ever seen.

What amazes me isn't that Uwe Boll thought this was a good idea because he's a sadist who hates movie-goers. However, what does surprise me is that he managed to convince some other people that this was a good idea and that the actors were able to put a (presumably low) price on their dignity and immortal souls.

I watched this to see if Uwe Boll's reputation was deserved, and don't get me wrong, it is pretty damn horrible, but nobody ever mentioned the incredible camp value. I wouldn't be surprised if in the future Boll is treated the same way Ed Wood is now. It is, however, a lot more boring than Wood's films tend to be, but is so in-your-face about how bad it is that you can't help but laugh.

Movie consist of little more than zombies getting blown apart by gunfire. In fact, director Uwe Boll seems to have felt so strongly about staying true to his inspiration that in several of the punishingly edited, Matrix-derived action scenes, he cuts to footage taken directly from the game itself, complete with pixelated zombie action and on-screen instructions to "reload."

Horror or horrible? This is the worst as of yet of video game to movie projects. Mario Bros. was better than this. I can't believe they released it in the theatres. Plus they cut in quick cuts of the actual game that has nothing to do with this movie. Game fun, movie sucks.

I don't think it's possible to make a worse movie. One of the few films that gets absolutely everything wrong. I can't get over how its supposed to be the rave of the century or whatever they are going to and said rave equals about 15 people on an island dancing to psuedo rave music? Also did anybody even pay attention to the continuity in this film? The attempt at cool camera effects are so stupid as to be insulting. So is the whole film for that matter.

Worse than you can imagine. Endlessly incoherent, lazy, filmmaking, with cheesy acting that lacks a sense of fun. Just a complete mess, most of which likely felt outdated and un-hip to the "teen" market it seems desperate to pander to, with a series of videogame references which hurt more than help. Uwe Boll should have tried harder to shock and offend because this just reeks of shoddy craftsmanship and by-the-numbers horror filmmaking than anything else.

While slammed by fans of the video game who expected a masterpiece, which when anyone with common sense looks at the game knows this would never happen, it is by far miles ahead of the average Zombie film, sure it has terrible sound at times, the continuity does not exist, the acting is terrible, it's cheesy and corny. But really from something that was never intended to be more than a zombie film it is not that bad, Uwe just suffers from alot of haters, he will only ever get a good review if h
