after gorey, and servais. staid, yet flowing, stimulating. normand roger has my dream job. that or presenter on a tv cooking programme wherein I teach you how to slow roast your elderly relatives. it's all about the seasoning.

NFB SHORT A DAY #3: Memorably tactile, occasionally gruesome surrealist animation. In addition to Gorey, seems influenced by Lynch and ERASERHEAD in particular but succeeds in creating its own alluring yet unsettling atmosphere. Also manages to fight off that gross faux-Quay flu that was going around then. Maybe a sniffle or two.
