The Cardiff club scene in the 90's: five best friends deal with their relationships and their personal demons during a weekend. Jip calls himself a sexual paranoid, afraid he's impotent. Lulu, Jip's mate, doesn't find much to fancy in men. Nina hates her job at a fast food joint, and her man, Koop, who dreams of being a great hip-hop d.j., is prone to fits of un-provoked jealousy. The fifth is Moff, whose family is down on his behavior. (imdb)

A ridiculously British film but so niche that I really doubt most Brits get what's going on in it. It emotes the nostalgia and is real. Certainly not for most but if you want an idea of the British young drug scene in the 90s this delivers.

Nice to see a movie about drugs that isn't preachy but takes the subject seriously, although there are a few good laughs. The characters aren't that good though and the plot is quite aimless.

"we're trapped in a world of endless dialogue" is one hell of an endline.

Top badass moment? I'm not personally part of the chemical generation, but I did watch this film whilst drinking from a bottle Kahlúa. (Via a glass with ice, not the bottle directly; even I'm not that slovenly). At one point one of the characters is in a bar and on the shelf behind him is a bottle of Kahlúa, just like the one that was on the table in front of me. Cool, my very own product placement, nearly as cool as my very own Terminator. No cat's chainsaws or decapitations.

Wasn't sure from the first 15 minutes but turned out to be an enjoyable watch. It's all around the party lifestyle but it takes you through all the thoughts and feelings you had from parties of the past right from the preparation to the aftermath. Some laugh out loud moments too.

This film was pretty. Average. Maybe a little pointless but it was fine if you just want to occupy your eyes with a bunch of people getting wasted.

Has a few funny bitties in the first 20 minutes of the movie, then it gets quite bland. You see people partying, and that's it. Seeing people party can be fun, but this was just quite boring. Also the characters are pretty dull (except in the beginning, the DJ is pretty funny)

The Master goes mad on clubbing with friends in Cardiff. Right, pithy description done, here goes. The simplest way of describing it is a made up biography of clubbers in the nineties aiming to be the 90s Dazed and Confused and succeeding. Never been a clubber overmuch myself, but all the business surrounding a night out with friends feels very familar, minus the drugs. (Yes, I'm a square, sue me) Also, Danny Dyer in a good film shocker.

Great depiction of dance and club culture in late 1990's Britain.
