Hundra

Unfairly forgotten as it's highly unusual & well made for the genre. While it starts to engage in a little too much slapstick humor & increased implausibility as Hundra very quickly teaches a female how to fight men (& then fails to explain why they're left alone by the male rulers for months), there is some great stuntwork, horsework, a Morricone score & a non-cliche dog. It's also profoundly feminist, but thankfully not bc the filmmakers are adhering to Woke demands, but bc they want it to be.

Its first half passably replicates the primitive vibe Conan achieved, if only by ripping off its methods wholesale; the breathtakingly stupid second half trades that in for cheap slapstick and cheaper feminism. Morricone's score is good enough to feel ripped from a better film. This isn't the bottom of the sword-and-sorcery barrel, but it's a fair ways down there.

The last member of an isolated tribe of barbarian women comes to a city to find a mate, so she can continue their Girl Power way of life. This dopey fantasy flick is basically the female version of Conan on a quest to get laid. Its sexual politics are not subtle in the slightest, and none of the actors are very good, but it's got a light tone and there's plenty of boobs and bloody swordfights. Add in a rousing Morricone score and you get perfectly acceptable Saturday afternoon fare.
