Hungry Hill

There’s clearly potential in the story for a better film. Something is lacking in the narration/direction and we don’t get the see the characters at their best.

Hungry Hill (1947) tries the history of a family trope spanning decades and shows us the big events that challenged them. They did try and make it interesting. Some big dramatic scenes and the acting was fine. There just wasn't much sparks to the characters to make you love or care for them in a big enough way to make the story a engaging one. The absolute magnet in the movie was Margaret Lockwood. She kept it alive the most, but the story wasn't strong enough to make her role a epic one.
