Visually beautiful ad quietly lyrical With a really nice score. Too bad that all the characters were unlikable and lacked depth. I found the ending to be kind of stupid as well.

Quiet. That's about it. Also, what is up with Kim Ki-Duk and boats?

As I progress further and further through Kim Ki-Duk's fascinating body of work, my appreciation only deepens. Very few filmmakers manage to make such audacious and controversial films, and succeed in infusing them with a certain tenderness. They are also extremely visual. Using recurring imagery to show the evolution in the characters state of mind. The Bow is no exception. While the ending is even more puzzling than usual, it is a fascinating film on female coming-of-age and spirituality.

Mysticism of the East World and us who are doesn't understand anything about their life, far world etc. Again we wanted go to Kim ki Duk's Worlds and live there.
Doğu mistisizmini anlamasak da Kim ki Duk yine kendi dünyasına bizleri hayran bıraktı ve orada yaşama özlemimizi tekrar gün yüzüne çıkardı.

kim ki duk tarzi h.uzmez guzellemesi. zamani gelince evlenmek maksatli besleyip buyuttugu minik kizin, kendisini sehirli bir gencin mp3'une ve ilgisine tercih etmesi uzerine ihtiyar bir adamin asiri hazin dramasi. ihtiyarin her halukarda kendisini ve kizi tatmin etme azmi takdire sayan. kim ki duk sembollerinden zorlama mana cikarma cabasiyla baskici rejime ayaklanan halkin yenilikcilik-modernite arzusu diyerek iyice kasiyim.

Films like this are the reason cinema exists. Enigmatic and compelling, "The Bow" ebbs and flows with the some of the trickster spirit of "3-Iron" and philosophical underpinnings of "Spring Summer Fall Winter and Spring". Kim Ki-duk tells a story only he could tell, accompanied by Jang Seon-back's stunning cinematography and some really exquisite original music. This is seriously a must-see, in the same league as "In the Mood for Love" and the aforementioned films.

He's done it again. One of my favorite directors, and I've only seen (as of this post) four of his films. What he can do with a story is unbelievable.

In this film Kim Ki-duk passes the border from metaphorical to pathetic.
