I want to be clear that yes,I'm giving this 40, but I'd actually say watch this if you enjoy 90 minute genre movies with a Paycheck flavour. It's just the plot and twists are wild and there's a lot going on.

On top of all the terrible things in this, I nominate this movie for the worst costume design award. "We need an attire for this shadowy mysterious organization. Oh I have this box full of matching scarlet red blazers! Let's make them look like real estate agents. Perfect!"

I liked it, but I guess I could see why people think it's terrible. I suppose I'm just easier on mind-bending movies, and ultimately, through the twists and turns I was never bored. That has to count for something. It's competently directed and acted, and there are some cool scenes.

Nothing of interest anywhere in this, probably should have known that going in.

Felt something was "off" for the first two thirds. Then came some kindofa "big reveal" and I realised it was the movie making, not the plot. Actors did as well as they could with the mundane script, director tried to make it all so significant, but it was all just a dumb idea, badly executed from a car park behind a studio. Some guys just want to get in the studio, no matter how mediocre their talent.

I started out wondering if it just might be a hilarious ironic pastiche of Inception-like thrillers, only to find out that Rodrigues is actually trying to make something seriously 'Great' and failing on such a monumentally epic scale. Soooo bad!

Complete failure from all cylinders. Totally unjustified. By the first few minutes, it's clear from Affleck's deflated performance that there is nothing to care for in this film.

As a friend as noticed, this looks and plays like one of those post-Memento reality-bending thrillers from the early 00s, with a bunch of cheap twists all around. Problem is that everything kind of falls apart in the second half, revealing how schematic this was right from the beginning. I hope Rodriguez and his kids get to do a sequel -- and a better film.

In spite of the absolutely ridiculous script (or, rather, actually because of it), this was strangely watchable.

A laughably bad, poorly acted movie. When nothing is real or as it seems, and you can’t trust anything you see happening, who cares? I certainly didn’t.

It becomes more and more stupid as it goes along. Somehow it is both shorter than it should have been as the world is half assed, but too long as it's boring most of the way. Affleck doesn't help at all with what feels like a slept through performance.

It was really fun to watch until all the spooky nonsense took over the story. The first half was good and exciting. The 2nd half was OH REALLY.... BS piled on top of more BS until it was over. SHEESH!

Some good ideas, and the acting was OK for the most part. The end, however, doesn't deliver, it feels a bit rushed, something is missing, and it's not satisfying. I did pass a good moment watching it, for the most part.

"Hypnotic" is unfortunately a disappointment from Robert Rodriguez, failing to live up to the potential of its premise or utilize the talents of its cast effectively. Given the lack of distinctive style, the underwhelming performances, and the confusing screenplay, this film falls short of the mark. While there are a few positive elements, such as Alice Braga's performance, they are far outweighed by the negative aspects. This film is a missed opportunity that fails to deliver on its

This was presented much better than anyone could hope for even if it falls victim to so many clichés as it unfolds. Affleck and Braga are likeable and Fichtner always plays a good victim. This story is one that probably would have benefited from more time fleshing out the concept. Having all of this unfold in a 90 minute film felt a little rushed and over the top.

Here’s a midnight movie that exists purely as plot, hyped atmosphere, and cheap thrills. It plays like a glorified spec script that pulp maestro Rodriguez picked out of a stack of rejects. But hell, it runs and runs from one tight/blunt scenario to the next, and the twist before the third act justifies the schematic nature that came before. In the end it’s probably a waste of everyone’s time, but how much of today’s trash is as well-turned as this one?

Love the ideas here, but the execution leaves so much to be desired. Walmart brand Nolan. Some good set pieces and decent ish performances, but I wanted it to be more than it was ever going to be. 4.9. Not disappointed I watched it, but just so much potential wasted here.

Oh boy, this is so terrible. Not even good from a B-movie point of view. Affleck and Braga are horrible and it looks cheaper than most recent Van Damme films.

The first half was good but when they tried too hard to be like one of the episodes in Black Mirror, everything fell apart like a domino.
