I Called Him Morgan

It seems like it's trying to make Helen a sympathetic character, but there's no reason to. She killed her husband. But they treat that like an afterthought. Overall, just doesn't get into the characters enough to be engaging, IMO.

So I watched this whole thing and I still don't know who in the fuck called him Morgan. Everyone in this seems to be referring to him as Lee, which would make sense as that's his first name. Guess I must have missed the titular line somewhere along the way. Anyway, reading more into it and hearing what some of his friends had to say, I'd say what Helen did was fair.

Somber documentary about a jazz musician taken too soon. It's a decent-enough recitation of the facts with some good interviews sprinkled throughout. Oddly, it reveals the ending right up front, and there are a few times where it feels a little repetitive. Still, the music is outstanding, although they don't seem to have used his best-known song ("Sidewinder")?

It's a compelling, but very very sad story. The feeling of utter pointlessness surrounding his death is depressing.
