Another neorealist work of genius by the incredible Mario Monicelli and Agenore Incrocci. If you're only going to watch one movie about the quintessential manifestation of class struggle, the workers' strike, make it this one. A thoroughly heartrending movie about the vanity, even destructiveness, of noble ideals in the face of harsh economic realities.

Arguably the cinema's definitive take on class struggle, a theme that was constantly expounded upon but is handled so beautifully here that I doubt anyone else ever topped it. Also one of Marcello Mastroianni's best performance. It's just a really lovely and moving film that I highly recommend.

kızıl yanım ağır bastırdığı için anca 70 verebildim. malesef bazı sahneler saçma sapan komedi filmlerini aratmıyor. rastgele atılan bir nesnenin birinin yüzüne gelmesi şakası 5 kere yapılmasına ne gerek vardı mesela. ayrıca Neo realist iddiası taşıyan filmimizde ikinci yarıda çoğu sahnenin inandırıcılığı yer seviyesinin de altında, ben yine verilen puanları oldukça şişik buluyorum.

I'm not a huge fan of the comedy here and the b-story with Annie Girardot feels a little unnecessary. All the strike stuff is really great, though. It's unfortunate that the English title is The Organizer as that implies a story in which a academic comes in and is able to rally a bunch of workers. Thankfully, this doesn't play out so simply. Mastroianni is wonderful, but he isn't a savior.

A tell: that the individualism of this film's Americanized title - The Organizer - is a direct contradiction of the Italian's literal translation and spirit of solidarity - The Comrades. With great compassion and indignance, and by threading a tricky needle of well-placed humor, this film simultaneously incites a great swell of enthusiasm, and laments the potential futility of it all in a world where capital is worth more than the broken backs of labor who produce it.

DVDRip no MakingOff.
