Hit on the head awhile back and I’ve become easily pleased. Just waiting for my moment where I find out I had it in me all along while I shamelessly laugh at another fat person over exaggerated hell slapstick pratfall.

As far as I can tell, Michelle Williams has only been in two comedies--this and Dick--but she has legit comedic chops. Anyway, Schumer is funny, but she's asked to carry too much here. There are also real story problems; the main message is constantly undermined.

Ironically, I Feel Pretty is one of the ugliest, most cringe-worthy movies of the year. It delivers its message in a way that humiliates rather than uplifts most of its "less attractive" characters for a majority of the runtime while also making Schumer's character a complete hypocrite. Besides an oddly satisfying performance from Michelle Williams as a rich white girl-type, there is no reason to watch this atrocity.

Occasionally funny but extremely underdeveloped. Michelle Williams easily walks away with the whole film.

Never mind all the PC BS that surrounded this. Although Schumer's a funny woman & there's an rare chuckle to be found here for the most part this isn't funny (at least to me & I'm a Schumer fan). It's especially problematic that the same joke (Schumer believes she's a knockout) is repeated over & over again & the only time it works is during the bikini contest but that's only because Schumer's behavior is so over-the-top that even a more fit woman behaving in the same way would be funny.

Mostly a little boring. I guess Schumer does a good job despite the material, but she's losing me. I loved her in Trainwreck but then she made the awful Snatched and now this. Any message of self-confidence (which is iffy because this is a pretty hypocritical movie at times) is lost in that. I laughed once or twice, and Michelle Williams was apparently there and awesome (I didn't even recognize her)… but that's about all the positivity I can muster for this.

I write this as a fan of Amy Schumer, but this was nearly unbearable. It's a role-reversed Shallow Hal, and just as insulting. It purports to have an uplifting message, but everything about the film pushes the opposite ideas. I feel like all the humor comes at the expense of her actually being awkward and Hollywood ugly, when it's not coming at the expense of more beautiful characters not being automatically happy.

I dont see the message behind turning your back on your friends and nearly cheating on your boyfriend only to last minute realize they always saw the real you. It paints a rather negative bubble around attention and friendship. It paints a rather negative bubble around appreciation and acceptance. Renee degraded herself so other people could see that and yet somehow this film was supposed to be about how powerful perception is? When she thought she was pretty she wanted every man to drool. Dumb.

Surprisingly better than I thought it would be. Michelle Williams was unrecognizable to me but was the best part of this movie, well her and Rory Scovel. This was an average movie at best where most of the jokes either fell flat or were underdeveloped as were most of the characters including the lead. You either have to have a strong story humor that pushes the envelope this had neither. This has a good message but it isn't well handled and loses a lot of impact because of it.

The big difference between 'I Feel Pretty' and 'Trainwreck' is Schumer's willingness to be the butt of the joke. She allows it in 'Trainwreck' to a degree, but she's always aware of her surroundings and how she's perceived, and just doesn't care. Renee, her character in 'I Feel Pretty', is almost a prequel to her mindset of her in character in 'Trainwreck' without the destructive tendencies. It's a standard romantic comedy with a strong message about the power of self-confidence.

I liked Trainwreck but this film misses its own message. Are we supposed to laugh at her physical appearance when that's against the entire point of the movie? On a different note, is Michelle Williams wearing the same wig in 2 movies in 2018: this movie and Venom?

A strange experience. It's not really funny, and it feels lifeless, but I found myself somewhat engaged with this film the entire way through. It's something that is easily digestible and you'll forget soon after. Listen, I was just feeling better after having the flu.

I think I must be the target demographic for this movie, because I really enjoyed it! Obviously not the best thing ever, I was still able to empathize with the main thrust of it.

I Feel Pretty has a charming first act, it's a shame that the premise allows few options for original conflict, but that could have been forgiven with a good pace which this movie blatantly lacks.

If Schumer and the synopsis for this gender-bender reimagination of Shallow Hal didn't put you off, then you get what you deserve with Narcissistic Nancy. A veritable buffet of self-deprecation, stupid ideas and bad jokes, finished with a moment of moronic self-realisation, wrapped up in the moral that being more confident doesn't make you less obnoxious. Everything out of Schumer's mouth is garbage. Scovel was decent, and the laundromat scene made me chuckle.

Only Schumer would make something like this. I just can't make up my mind weather or not it's insulting or uplifting. Refreshing to see Williams in a quirky role like this - gives credit overall to the movie. *Okay

Michelle Williams steals this film with a surprising performance unlike anything she has done before. The film starts off well but the script gets weak in the final third of the movie. With a better script this film would have been more enjoyable.

There just aren't any jokes, unless we're supposed to laugh at Schumer acting confident because only gorgeous people are supposed to act like that. I think that's the opposite of the message that the film is trying to convey.
