|
I Love You to Death's premise, while amusing, is more bark than bite. While I generally enjoy Kline's schtick, his accented performance comes across as a little dated, though still watchable. The film's mix of ridiculous antics, dark humour and stoner-esque characters just don't meld well enough. It was nice seeing Margolyes, Reeves and Graham in their youth, and the cast is the definitely the highlight of the film that script just doesn't live up to.

Good story. Great writing. One of the best casts ever. Not only a great cast, but a great cast featuring some of their best performances. This is more than enough reason to take the 90 minutes to watch this film. Sure, it's a silly comedy, but it intends to be, and it works well. The Kline scenes with Phoenix scenes are overflowing with talent. It's a real delight to watch.
