I Met the Walrus

I Met the Walrus

In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview about peace. Using the original interview as the soundtrack, this narrative tenderly romances Lennon's every word in a cascading flood of multi-pronged animation. (imdb)

The Interview itself is fascinating and at times profound, but the animation is really just a simple illustration of what he's saying, often rather lamely, and therefore, althrough it is proficient animation, it just fails to hit home.

It's entertaining, plus it reveals how vacuous Lennon really was :-)

Good job! I didn't understand everything that was said (audio quality not too good, and english is not my first language), but animation is interestingly looking and the way the words become pictures is very captivating. Kudos to Josh Raskin.

Cool animation set to a 14-year old's interview with a free-wheeling John Lennon. No earth-shattering insights, but enjoyable and fascinating to Beatles fans. And very well executed animation.
