18th century justice catches up with a pair of grave robbers. With only a few hours to go before his date with the guillotine, Arthur Blake (Monaghan) tells his life story to Father Francis Duffy (Ron Perlman). Before long, Arthur spills the beans on how he got started in the grim corpse peddling business with seasoned ghoul Willie Grimes (Fessenden).

Not a bad little horror comedy. A few things detracted from it for me: It looked more 19th century than 18th century and it's unlikely that a body-snatcher would be beheaded in England at any time as it was usually reserved for the high-born, and what's with all of the graveyards looking ancient? Wouldn't they look new at that time? Worth a watch though despite all that.

One of the most entertaining low-budget B movies of recent years that completely goes against expectations and rises far above its mainstream counterparts, i.e. the trainwreck that was "Burke & Hare".

Neither horror nor comedy, but enjoyable all the same. Finding semi-precious gems like these amongst all the blockbusters and gorefests makes it that much better.

This movie was rather amusing. Unpredictable. The ending . . . cracked me up-- a bit. Oh sure, spine-chilling moments.

A bit too sloppy.

a wildly enjoyable comedy/horror that hits all the right notes. the acting is kosher and the story throws in a few monster to the mix to make what was already a well carried out yarn into sheer awesomeness.

It's quite slow -especially the first 20 but oddly likeable. A comedy adventure that brought to mind POTC only with a tiny budget.

Great. This horror-comedy done right. A grave-robber confesses his ill deeds to a priest the night before his execution, throw in zombies and a lot of other paranormal activity and you've got a fun movie on your hand. Highly recommended.

The comedy often falls flat, but it is at least mildly amusing. Boasts a visual texture and episodic structure that resemble a graphic novel. A little editing could help the contrived flashback structure.

Not too shabby! A fun little flick about Ye Olde English graverobbers and the zombies that love and/or hunger for them. The setting is all over the place and the narrative structure is too fractured to really feel coherent, but at least it doesn't take itself too seriously and just rolls with it. A few nice effects and characters, with Perlman to top it off in style.

Its almost like a companion piece to Drag me to Hell..this movie has alot of heart and its a good time. This movie is not a bloodfest its a grave robbing little horror comedy. The only reason I did not rank it higher the middle kinda dragged for me...but its still a solid movie

Horror comedy that isn't scary or funny. Art direction is decent, but ultimately this film feels more like an ep from TV series than standalone piece.

A bit silly but it's heart is in the right place and because of that it's quite watchable for the right audience.

"The cerebral horror of Wendigo and The Last Winter is nowhere to be found in Glenn McQuaid's meandering 19th-century supernatural gothic tale." - Nick Schager

There's a lot to like about this movie. Sure, it's very silly, but there's a lot of charm here and the movie is genuinely funny at times. It's helped considerably by the prescence of some very good actors, especially Dominic Monaghan and Ron Perlman.
