Beatlemania = young women going crazy over four dorks. Zemeckis and Gale capture this 'zeitgeisty' watershed moment in contemporary pop culture history quite well, but at the same time, despite the musical virtues of The Beatles, which were not inconsiderable, one gets the sense that it was simultaneously the beginning of the end, and this feeling is simply magnified here by the absence of critique. Nonetheless, the 'mania' is effectively conveyed, and the cast is not without charm.

The comedy goes pretty broad, but you see where the real charm is once you get to the hotel—and what can be a more classic than a proper hotel chase setup—with the constant commotion of a good half-dozen or so episodic plots at any given time being capably juggled to the accompaniment of a constant roar with a bit of music poking through.

Apparently, Beatlemania is like the Rage virus from 28 Days Later and I'm totally on board for it. Incredibly energetic and fun romp. I'm not a huge Beatles fan but this is a quality watch.
