I used to be famous

This is quite a well made British film about a guy who used to be in a boy band and who is trying to make it back into the music scene, a decade after he was last in the limelight. Its reasonably thoughtful and features some good performances. I could see things from his point of view and that of the mother of the autistic drummer, who he tries to coach and have as a new musical partner. It's a little cheesy maybe but not exactly soaked in sentimentality, thankfully.

With the amount of cliches in it, it actually deserves less, but the warmth.. Such a warm and feel good vibes in this one.. It’s just enjoyable.

I love its sincerity.

Je m'attendais à un film facile, et dégoulinant de bons sentiments, en fait c'est franchement bon. Tout passe par le duo, mais les scénaristes ont insisté là où le spectateur n'a pas l'habitude d'aller dans ce genre de productions. La mère de l'autiste est un excellent personnage. Une mention à la scène où Vince rend visite à sa mère, c'est vraiment triste, sans verser dans le pathos. La fin est attendue, mais on prend plaisir à voir les sourires sur les visages de ces personnages malheureux.
