disjointed at times and not great by any metric but it's an utterly fascinating film.

Never has overthrowing the government looked so boring.

Authentic-feeling examination of underground revolutionary politics. We catch details about the alternate USA the film takes place in but never get a clear picture of it; the narrative is fractured and confusing, the characters show hints of how they understand the movement but don't seem capable of expressing a unified vision. Perpetual revolution? Shot in a cinéma vérité style, it loses a bit of power in those moments when it drifts slightly away from its pseudo-documentary approach.
