Ici et ailleurs

I went in expecting Godard to be political and pointed, playful and pedantic and I got all of that, but where at other times I've found him willfully obscurantist here I find him surprisingly direct and passionate and that makes the film very effective. It helps that it's somewhat self critical, and while the message and idea of the film becomes rather clear as it progresses to the blunt ending it doesn't ever feel that preachy, just observational and questioning.

Neste cine-ensaio avassalador, Godard e Miéville incitam o pensar na forma que a imagem (e o som) conta a história e como o ocidental regurgita tudo isso de uma maneira um tanto quanto minimalizada, há sobreposições de imagens por todo o filme, mas isso fica claro mesmo no seu final: com a família francesa assistindo TV displicentemente e a imagem dialética dos palestinos comentando a morte em seus futuros. E nós somos bombardeados com isso o tempo todo. DVDRip no MakingOff.

Post-modernism at its most cutting, self-reflexive best

My first Godard and probably not a great place to start. I found the the text between segments interesting but I wasn't completely sold on the rest.
