One of the funniest movies of the classic Commedia All'italiana - I can barely remember ever laughing so much as I'm reading subtitles - and ultimately quite sad as well, as the best of them are. The writing team obviously deserves kudos as does the genius of Alberto Sordi. Anticipates Ephraim Kishon, though I'm sure there's no material connection.
