I'm Gonna Git You Sucka isn't unique in being a spoof of Blaxploitation films, but it isn't a bad addition to the collection. With all of the aged black action stars together, it's fun to see the interactions and reminiscent stories they have as they stick it to the man once again. Meh!

This is an example of the Wayans brothers before they sucked. Hysterical send-up of the 70's blaxploitation genre and similar to Airplane and Naked Gun.

Yes, once upon a time, the Wayans brothers were actually funny. The bit with Chris Rock is a classic

The Wayans were once actually funny and this movie is definite proof of that. While it's not a really original or shining gem of blaxploitation spoofing it still delivers a decent amount of humourous gags making it worth a watch. When you take into account the pure trash the Wayans have made lately this movie seems comparatively even better, hell even Damon Wayans has a role that actually illicits a good couple of laughs, now that's saying something.

NOTHING FUNNY AT ALL happens in this movie for the first hour, and then after that there's barely a titter.

This pathetic spoof should have served as an early indicator of Keenen Ivory Wayans' abject lack of comedic talent. Despite the film's farcical tone, few attempts at humour are ever offered, none of which should raise the faintest glimmer of a smile in even the least demanding of audiences. It's a shame to see some iconic black actors wasted on this material.

Dated blaxploitation spoof that probably received more attention than it deserved on release due to the dearth of African-American films in Hollywood. Perhaps extensive knowledge of the genre is required to appreciate it, but to this viewer it's a bafflingly slow moving comedy that contains cheap jokes that aren't funny and poorly judged performances from a talented ensemble that deserved better. Fargas' absurdly flamboyant pimp character is memorable, but nothing else is.

Since Wayans is more of a sketch comedian than a filmmaker, you'll have to turn your mind off to the plot & view this as an In Living Color prequel. As with most 80's comedies there are some dumb politics (like the Black Panther/Black Nationalist). But the gags are fun: like the stunt double, Chris Rock bit, and platform shoes pratfall. However, the 70's blaxploitation love doesn't jive well with a film made at the start of hip-hop's Golden Age. Marginal recommendation for the endless quotes.

Not consistently funny, but there are some very good gags sprinkled throughout. The film ultimately works, though, because it has such an obvious love for the blaxploitation genre, so even when you're rolling your eyes at a lame joke the film still has enough charm to win you over.

Better than anything Robert Townsend ever did, and probably the funniest Wayans movie ever made...they all got worse from here. It's an homage to blaxploitation flicks, so (in other words), it is a generally bad movie about an entire genre of bad movies. There are some funny moments, though - ("JUNEBUG SPADE!?!?") - and I'd recommend it for no-brainer, mindless laughs.

I was hoping for a laugh riot, but this movie is still a good time and well-done parody.

Haven't seen this in awhile, but I remember liking it a ton when I was younger. Some cool gags, but I imagine some of them wouldn't make me laugh anymore.

There's long stretches with just no jokes. The taking the stairs scene cracked me up tho.

Never quite hits all the notes, but sets the stage for the perfection of Black Dynamite two decades later.

it's not really funny. also, i don't know if it's high praise for a parody or not, or maybe an insult to the material it's parodying, but except for a couple over the top gags it's barely discernible from actual 70s blaxploitation. i would say it's an insult, because even without knowing what's being parodied, there should be enough humor that anyone can tell it's a parody.

Had its moments...Isaac Hayes and Chris Rock stole the show. Get to see a pre-cursor to "Don't Be A Menace..." et al. and what format the other Wayans films would later adopt/omit.
