Imburnal

docudrama about young people in a poor filipino village softly threatened with political violence. the little ones explore the world, the teenagers talk about fucking. occasionally, one of them dies without fanfare. there is a lot of subtle audiovisual editing going on, and it probably shouldn't work, but somehow it does. the only thing i wish was that my copy translated the radio broadcasts, as i imagine they contained a great deal of political context. perhaps my score is a bit low, then.
