In Between

Hamoud is trying a bit too hard to make a 'taboo breaking' film, but even so it is an enlightening and entertaining insight into the fraught lives of three Israeli-Arab women determined to lead their best lives.

Objectively, not a really good movie, but yet it was interesting to see this other other side of the city I live in, which I never have the chance to encounter in daily life.

Has sort of the feeling of a compiled web serial, where each episode reveals a bit more of the characters, while being in addition a self-contained feminist anecdote. Aside from some pithy one-liners this packs little punch. We've got to the point where this type of film can be generic.

Nice to see a movie about palestinians in israel that hasn't much to do with the conflict.

Over-hyped, very simplistic in nature. Good soundtrack and acting, but the narrative is predictable and corny. Then again, I'm not the target audience.
