A romantic road film, the story focuses on Daniel, a shy and naive physics teacher trying to get from Hamburg to Istanbul in 7 days in order to meet Melek, a woman he's fallen in love with. His wild odyssey is shared by Juli, a young woman hungry for life who predicts Daniel will soon find his one true love. On his way East, Daniel discovers a new self and learns to truly fight for his happiness. (Film Philos)

The various European locales are also well captured, making this a nice trip for us as viewers as well. All in all, it's a breezy affair, but just like a sunny day "in July", this breeze is very welcome.

Great movie. Movies like this are why I stand by romantic comedies - it's amazing what you get when you just put in a little creativity. The photography is stunning and I loved the characters. Makes me want to take a road trip.

The scene when they get stoned on the boat is the only moment this could realistically put across - maybe one or two others early on. The rest is unconvincing, coincidence-riddled, cartoonish poop.

Interesting movie depicting a road trip -- romantic and not the regular slapstick comedy that most have watched. The movie is full of co-incidences and after a point you start expecting what is going to happen. Overall a nice movie with very nice shots of the various parts of Europe.

Amusing and stylish road movie that's just a little too cute for it's own good. Blebibtreu and Paul are a pleasant enough pairing, their adventures highlighted with some very nice touches from Akin. Still, as the improbable coincidences started to pile up and the manufactured tension grated, I welcomed the long telegraphed and overly cloy finish.
