In the Mix

The first 40 minutes are good to make fun at, but it's mostly a predictable, boring piece of shit with the main girl having a really punchable face. Has about as many cliches as a chickenwings-topped pizza, eaten by a bunch of American black Italians

Really, seriously terrible. Usher decides he wants to be a movie star, which is ridiculous enough by itself; where he *really* goes over the line is where he tries to prove how down he is wid da bruddas although his godfather is Ben Vereen. Oh, yeah, he knows the streets, all right. (You may laugh now.)

Assumes its audience is made up of a bunch of morons by constantly tapping into easily recognizable stereotypes. The only thing missing, aside from the black man wagering his gun in a poker game and the Italian mobster eating a slice of pizza, was an Asian dry-cleaner ironing Usher's clothes.

A glimpse into a world where racism doesn't exist and where the Mafia enjoy hip hop. That aside, it's is a pretty dull romance film with a few comedy moments. The IMDB reviews destroyed Usher as an actor but luckily I had forgotten about that when I watched it. I found his acting to be entirely mediocre, I had no single thought neither good nor bad about it - he acted competently and without comment. For a film rated so low in IMDB I was amazed how unshit it was, instead it was just forgettable

Cute girl, Chriqui, but not much of a movie.

Rife with stereotypes, In the Mix is a movie even I could have written, and I wouldn't have even had to bother doing any research into how club DJs or mafia families operate. Everything I need to learn could come right from watching other movies that cover the same ground.
