I wish this film could be transformed into a TV series so I could endlessly watch the characters interact with each other. There's nothing mind blowing about the editing, cinematography, or other artistic aspects of film, but Polar Bear shines brightly in its character development.

Treats its subject matter with both respect and a somewhat awkward tone. Captures bipolar disorder well but is a little too cutesy-sweet for my taste. Ruffalo and Saldana are good, and there are a couple of laughs, but it's a touch tone-deaf.

Very sweet way to handle an otherwise tough matter. Especially Ruffalos excellent performance is sticking out of this great cast in general. Some performance to look out for in award season.

Well-acted with characters you root for. Sometimes that seems like all you'd need out of this film, sometimes it feels a little light.

Lots to like, but this was just "okay" for me. The performances (particularly that of Mark Ruffalo) are great and the story is very nice (including some intriguing characters) but I didn't feel like it was handled as well as it could have been. It feels like a film that should be very emotionally-charged but I was left feeling a little flat afterwards.

Zoe Saldana & Mark Ruffalo gave good performances as did the two young girls. While I liked this movie, it does a rather poor job of showing bipolar disorder. Instead, it opts to sugar coats the illness and provide a quirky, heart warming family drama. I am also disappointed with the lack of a proper ending. This movie has plenty of mashed potatoes and carrots, but very little meat.

I loved the script by Maya Forbes, but Mark Ruffalo's (Cam) performance takes it to an entirely different level. He brings tenderness, toughness, and confusion to a character who often embodies all three at once. The performances of Imogene Wolodarsky (Amelia) and Ashley Aufderheide (Faith) are also great, especially with the chemistry between them and Ruffalo.

Infinitely Polar Bear isn't as funny as it should have been, nor is the story told as tight as it could have been. Some of the dramatic elements felt forced, but despite this Ruffalo (in particular) and Saldana deliver performances that keep this little film watchable as well as enjoyable.
