Gopi (Prem Nazir), jilted by his lover Thulasi (Sheela), wanders around & finally seeks refuge at Janaki's (Kaviyoor Ponnamma) tea stall where Janaki's daughter Radha (Vidhubala) takes a fancy to Gopi. Gopi rebuffs Radha, advising her to pay heed to the pleas of Radha's neighbor Rajan (Ravi Kumar), who was on the verge of drinking himself to death after being spurned by Radha.
