That the footage used in this documentary is material shot for another documentary entirely, makes it more chilling. Knowing what happened makes many of the things that Peter Madsen said sound way creepy, though even on their own, the comments just sound very much off. Just a solid and very creepy documentary about a tragic event.

Again, one of those documentaries where there’s an amazingly shocking story revealed slowly, and how lucky it is that it was all documented. You feel lost in the beginning with who the fuck is who but comes together nicely. Oh and how is no one talking about the face replacement here? An amazing use of the technology for a good thing at last.

You have to admire the documentarians for rolling with the story as it took a sharp dive from being a puff piece on an engineering genius to an expose on a cruel, horrific murder. That the cameras had always been around Marsden is chilling to comprehend, as they proved vital in his conviction. It's a story that goes from compelling, to haunting, all from the direct POV of those who thought this man was a hero and had to learn what a monster he really was.

Probably the filmmaker was not in a position to stick around and put together a comprehensive documentary, instead relying on footage acquired prior to the crime and up until the trial. Thus the focus is on what is revealed about the perpetrator through those recordings and how the circle around the workshop reacted. But even within those parameters, there is a sense that important questions and topics are avoided, so that the result does not quite seem to do justice to the horrifying events.

Idk. Couldn’t follow this or care enough.

One of those "wow, crazy that someone was around to document this stuff up close" situations, although with a case this tragic and stomach-churning, it's easier to appreciate it as potent evidence than compelling documentary footage.
