Întregalde

Viewed October 5, 2021. The chilly atmosphere is well-defined and Radu Muntean continually nods toward horror movie tropes without actually capitalizing on them, which gives this an unusual amount of tension. I enjoyed how all of the humor found throughout was mean-spirited enough to implicate the audience in the same sort of power dynamic Muntean sets out to criticize, which also makes the film's isolating final shot that much more affecting.

"Întregalde" is an inventive and entertaining film that successfully blends genres to create a unique viewing experience. Despite a few flaws, the performances and direction make this film a must-see for fans of dark comedies and horror.
