Great kung fu from the Venoms! I always wondered what movie RZA sampled in his 'Mantis' song on a Bobby Digital album, now I know! Love the training scenes with Meng Lo: "You said you liked eggs!"

It amazes me how many kung fu film characters had to die because they wouldn't just shut up and listen for 30 seconds.

Aside from the decent fights, of which there aren't enough and the fun if a bit over long training scene the movie is fairly bland and forgettable with a relatively lame poorly hyped main villain.

I really liked the training sequences, but they go on too long, as if the director knew that they were the best part too and wanted to prolong that effect, which doesn't work if it's the same thing shown for too long. I know fights in kung fu movies aren't always caused by the most sound of reasons, but this time it was ridiculous. And no one that was getting defeated ever gave in, they always fought til they died. Can't someone give up reasonably? It might give the movie some depth.
