Can a story change the world? In the spring of 2003, three young Americans traveled to Africa in search of such a story - and found a devastating one. What started out as a filmmaking adventure in Africa transformed into much more. What these three boys from Southern California found was a tragedy that disgusted and inspired them - a story where children are the weapons and the victims. (ietff.com)

From a technical filmmaking perspective, it's not that special. I wasn't expecting it to be, though. After all it was just these guys with a camera, no money, and no experience. But the movie is very heartfelt, and the filmmakers come across as genuine and honest. Definitely worth a look.

Too bad this is nothing but a scam, or else I'd actually give them more credibility!

OK. We're told that it's really, really screwed up in Africa, and we watch these African kids suffer. If you've been paying attention, you already know everything that this movie has to say. It seems like a picture that's mainly interested in blackmailing you into liking it, or saying that you do, since the American dudes went to all this trouble to make it, and evidently if you say you find it dull that means you're some kind of evil person

Self-indulgent horseshit. Another example of a documentary with great and interesting subject matter, but with the worst possible subjects. The three main guys are a bunch of white dudebros who decide they're going to do their own Eat Pray Love in Africa and get more than they bargained for! Only adding to this is the (more) recent allegations of fraud levied against the Invisible Children organization.
