Island in the Sky

Decent survival story although hokey in places. John Wayne delivers an unusually good performance. A little disappointed it was filmed out West and not in Labrador - part of the reason I rented it.

While still portraying heroic action, "Island in the Sky" is a rescue film built around realism and personal angst. John Wayne still plays a manly character, just without all the confidence.
