The ironic, heartbreaking and acid "saga" of a spoiled tomato: from the plantation of a "Nisei" (Brazilian with Japanese origins); to a supermarket; to a consumer's kitchen to become sauce of a pork meat; to the garbage can since it is spoiled for the consumption; to a garbage truck to be dumped in a garbage dump in "Ilha das Flores"; to the selection of nutriment for pigs by the employees of a pigs breeder; to become food for poor Brazilian people. An amazing little film about the human condition. The whimsical narrative contrasts sharply with the sometimes gruesome imagery and cynically depressing content. Truly one of the best short films.

I can see the Vonnegut (my fave author) influence so I'm kind of biased. The narration is so Kurt it's incredible. The way it uses humour, bizarre images and a... tomato to dissect human right violations and just society in general is pretty much perfect. And not only that but it's ballsy as fuck, declaring "God does not exist" in the first 30 seconds. It was from that moment on I knew I'd love this because it was so in my face.

13 minutes of perfection that documents the gross superiority of money over the existence and general well-being of human life.

Cynical and humorous attack on the modern state of human rights. Comes across like it was produced from somebody outside of this world looking in, which really helps drive the point home.

A fun to watch, but gut-punching documentary made as a brochure for Earth intended for aliens.

Fast-paced, funny, and comically pessimistic. Very surprising. The ending hit me hard.

An interesting view of the "free" market but the narrator presents the whole thing with a cynical tone that's very off-putting.
