It's a Date

I found It's a Date (1940) highly enjoyable, even if it was seriously underplayed dramatically to make in a pleasant Hollywood crowd pleaser. All likable performances. Kay Francis looked particularly beautiful, while Deanna Durbin went for adorable and almost hit the nail. She shined best when she was singing, finishing off with a touching 'Ave Maria'. Walter Pidgeon as the man in between mother and daughter was the perfect gentleman.
