Jawbone

It's another down and out boxer story. McCabe is an alcoholic boxer who lost his mom and with his best days behind him he goes to an unlicensed boxing match to get some money. Having a soft spot for the boxing genre I am generally into these and this is no different. It's depressing and Johnny Harris gives a good performance as McCabe. Some moments are truly heartbreaking and there's a sincerity here (Harris wrote it and based it off his life) that makes it more compelling. Worth a watch.

Jawbone is a British sports drama with a whole lot of heart and is essential viewing for fans of the genre. Exceptional performances from Ian McShane, Ray Winstone, Johnny Harris, and Michael Smiley.

I just want to cry every time he starts speaking. He is so polite!
