Fine acting (even with kid actors), interesting story and good mood. Unfortunately directing did not get the point and the end was dull. There was still so much to tell about. Like that it did not lead anywhere.

The movie starts of well but the ending is what causes the movie to get much lower rating than what it would have gotten. The acting is good by all including the child artists. It is an average enjoyable movie.

One of my biggest issues with this film is that I could never tell what was intentionally bad and what was just the result of not having a big enough budget to do something well. The film kept appearing to try and say something, but falls flat on its face almost every time. It doesn't resolve half the issues it brings up, regarding sexuality etc. I'm still not sure why half the scenes were shot the way they were, like the weird Spanish scene in the park. Some acting was pretty enjoyable.

There's no emotional depth until the end when they start shoving it down your throat. The cause of pain in Patricia's life is just so silly it's hard to feel for her. The characters are forced and don't appeal to me at all. It doesn't work as a drama for the most part and as a comedy there's one or two laughs. It's one of those movies that force that indie feel instead of a movie like Little Miss Sunshine which just works. Really, very little actually works in this.

"The title alone invites you to cuss at this smug film about family tites, and you may do so the second you catch a whiff of the portentous first shot: a Wes Anderson put-on." - Ed Gonzalez

I quite liked this offbeat comedy. Toni Collette and Michael Sheen were very good. The plot and dialog was smart and often quite funny. The young Jason Spevack and Samantha Weinstein were wonderfully quirky and deadpan funny. The story is fresh, unique and fun to watch. The title does it no favors.
