A drama with some martial arts that's just as much about women's right as it has to the Chinese Revolution of 1911. The solid acting was a big plus and it's good to see Suet Lam and Anthony Wong in a movie. The film feels like a compilation film of a much longer TV drama at times especially with the sometime jarring edits. The few scenes of martial arts were well done with Xin Xin Xiong being the standout.

Very nice action scenes that go a bit overboard considering the realistic subject matter at times. The biographic aspect is handled decently, though it's a bit hard for any real suspense to build up since the ending is pretty much clear from the beginning. Bonus points for being a movie about Chinese history without being disgustingly nationalistic or thinly veiled party propaganda like too many Chinese history epics these days.
