Jim Thorpe -- All-American

Thorpe despite being among the greatest athletes of the 20th century can't get a native actor to portray him is bewildering but disregarding that the movie is just dull. Thorpe deserves better. But he deserved better while he was on this earth. The role of Thorpe's mentor Pop Warner is played nicely tho

I appreciated the attitude of this film, but it's casting keeps it from being timeless.

It's like this with all Hollywood biopics. Never the real story. Just Hollywood cliches for the sake of emotional effect. At least this time they're trying to honor a Native American All-American, even if it's Burt Lancaster doing the work. But looking past all that, it's the biopic they always tell with athletes. Magical sporting moments and struggles outside of the arena.
