The only thing notable about the second-to-last Joe Palooka film was James Gleason replacing Leon Errol as the manager. Unfortunately both Joe Palooka and Humphrey are there, bland as ever. At least this one turned to boxing again, so at least it went somewhat back to its roots. But besides a classy performance by Gleason, there was little to enjoy here. Tune in to 1951 for the "exciting" final film in this series.... before it moved to TV in 1954 dragging it out even more.
