For a festival darling maybe I was expecting more than what actually exists, which is: interview footage that has little to nothing to do with Cash or his lasting significance, dated commentary on the prison system, and a couple "music videos" that embarrass the music. Visual design falls into indie doc cliche territory fairly badly. But unsurprisingly, the interviews with Cash are fantastic.
