Enjoyable continuation of the Jolson saga, which works better than its predecessor when it strikes out from the "scrappy underdog" formula of part 1. Parks is still the whole show, and makes for an endearing, engaging evocation of Jolson; *SPOILER* leads to a highly amusing deneumont when Parks turns up as himself to meet "Jolson" to prepare for his role in part 1! Perhaps the first blatant "meta" joke in the history of cinema?

This is Larry Parks playing Jolson, and he does the impression of the star well. But if the question is "Do anyone need to see this?", the answer would probable be "No". This is just an excuse to hear his trademark songs one more time with some tacked on sweetness to clean Jolson's image. And that it does well.
