Jolt (2021)
A bouncer with a slightly murderous anger-management problem that she controls with the help of an electrode-lined vest she uses to shock herself back to normalcy whenever she gets homicidal. After the first guy she's ever fallen for is murdered, she goes on a revenge-fueled rampage to find the killer while the cops pursue her as their chief suspect. (imdb)

Starts with a ham-fisted voice-over exposition dump, but the movie that comes afterwards, I really like! Well, until they start pushing my suspension of disbelief a bit much. The action is not great (jump-cuts up the wazoo), but I quite like the main character, and love seeing her develop. Just try to ignore both endings.

Rough. Big OOF! Could have been an interesting movie but it wasn't. And i have already forgotten the entire movie. The ending was fucking terrible, that much I remember!

It's got some okay stuff; it looks good, it has some funny lines and... Well, I guess that's it! It feels like a another attempt of cashing in on female-lead movies that are just done kinda poorly. It introduces you to some cringeworthy stuff that's supposed to be cool and the main character remains distant personality-wise and in the end it feels like any other mediocre action piece.

Former bouncer whose power is to not control her inner violence in a revenge route to kill an old psycho billionaire. Pretty by the numbers in terms of comic book action comedy, but Beckinsale is just great and Wexler has a good eye for quick, small-scale set pieces (hospital one is brilliant) and world-building -- it's kinda like John Wick, but with way less low fantasy bits. Climax sucks.

Big budget version of the kinds of straight-to-video action movies Bronson used to star in: it feels very derivative & doesn't always make sense in sloppy ways, but at least it doesn't take itself seriously & is very fast paced. The action scenes are common, but violent enough to have an impact w/ the hospital chase/baby catch being great. Beckinsale's also too thin to pull off plausible punching unless she's a vampire, but her beauty alone makes this easy to watch. Good if you're in the mood.

Very exciting and entertaining movie. Lots of extra points for Kate Beckensale who is as hot as ever. This is a high production value action movie with a clever plot device. I was riveted to my seat, and thoroughly amused. Highly worthwhile.

It's okay. Beckinsale is a proven action star so she's convincing. There's some cringey dialogue in here but her presence does a lot to elevate it and occasionally even make it seem cool. The action itself is fine but hardly memorable, and the ending seemed really rushed and a little unsatisfying. But ultimately it's entertaining and a decent way to kill an hour and a half.
