Call me crazy, but I fonund this to be a decent role for Whoopi, back when she was still relatively new and underexposed to the public. It's not too horrible a film.

Funny and crazy gangster-movie, not bad. Oh yes there was a small role for Dutch actor J.Krabbé.

It's a funny Whoopi Goldberg vehicle, and she's at her prime.

Whoopi plays a computer nerd who ends up sucked into some international espionage when a spy contacts her out of the blue for some reason. The only time I've ever found Whoopi Goldberg watchable.

Saw it when I was a kid, and I probably found her as annoying then as I do now.

A fairly light and simplistic spy thriller is elevated by an entertaining performance by Whoopi Goldberg, who makes the most of a weak script. The romantic sub plot is a little bit forced and difficult to buy into, but there are a few funny moments here and there and while it would be hard to recommend this film outright, with lowered expectations a viewer could do a lot worse.

Seen this ~3 times and never remember much about it. I think I return to it mainly because the VHS box looked intriguing as a kid. Re-watching it now it's obvious that this is a rather boring film; a spy-comedy/thriller which is a rare combination, but they can't get the ratio right. Clearly trying to copy Beverly Hills Cop, it's too slow moving and lacks the energy of the earlier film. Whoopi's character is too eccentric and the swearing feels forced. Better soundtrack might have helped a bit.

Not too mediocre of a film. Whoopi is relatively benign, not nearly as funny as Sister Act and not as blue as her stand-up act. Great casting for the supporting roles, Stephen Collins, Jim Belushi, Carol Kane, Jon Lovitz, and Annie Potts, all very good SPOILER: b-flat (Spoiled Spoiler: b-flat is actually incorrect as the song goes, but, hey, it's only a movie)
