Jungle Holocaust

One of the longest 88 minute stretches that I can remember.

I don't know what I think of this one. It's gorgeous and the story propels itself well, with a strong sense of stakes and escalation, but it's just grotesque. It revels in death and racial otherness. Feels like a dark recap of The Naked Prey, like it's bringing all the bad adventure film subtext to the surface for us to look at.

If you find yourself wondering what this is a sequel to, the answer is nothing. This film was originally intended to be Sacrifice 2, but the plan was scraped during filming over payment and rights/royalties. It was then redirected as the third Ferox film. That also was scraped and the later filmed parts were to stand alone. However none of the already filmed material was dumped. So in it's true uncut form the film is graphic and violent; but impossible to follow.

Dark, appetizing suspense.
