Ashley (Lohan) is the luckiest girl in New York City, where she has a promising career and a life full of glamour and romance. Jake (Pine) is the unluckiest guy in town, tormented by constant mishaps and missed opportunities. Everything changes for Ashley and Jake when they meet at a swank masquerade party, share a kiss, and miraculously swap their luck. Obviously fucking dumb "quirky romantic comedy" schlock but Lohan looks unbelievably hot here and the humour has a weird, cringe-worthy, humiliation slapstick that verges on sadism. I've never seen a glossy, mainstream film treat their characters like total shit simply for laughs.

The bad luck and the good luck were the only interesting parts of the movie. Wondering how things will go right or wrong. The rest? Heh. No. It didn't help either they were rubbing our face in the butt of that Simple Plan-sounding group all the way through.

Somehow sucked into watching this film. A pretty standard Lohan vehicle. Cutesy crap with a side order or stupid. Some of the things that go wrong have nothing to do with bad luck, but just plain stupidity. Great casting I suppose then...

I think this film is underrated. It's certainly better than Mean Girls. The plot may be unoriginal, but it had some interesting bits. But, yeah, this film is still flawed.

I wonder what the target audience for this was - based on some of the themes and actions, it seems to be aimed at (young) adults, but the story and the characters are so naive and stupid that it resembles a kids movie.
